So this is the New Year…

…and I don’t feel any different. -DCFC Once again I have to apologize for not keeping this blog up to date although I had every intention to do so. If I were to make new years resolutions, one would be to regularly update this blog, the website, & the flickr site. I’m willing to bet that similar to last year, I wont be able to make those promises but I did get a new Mac Book Pro ( I LOVE IT ) so maybe I’ll be more efficient and actually improve on this. One of the great things about photography is that if you’re behind on printing & updating websites & portfolios…it just means that you’ve been to busy shooting that you can’t keep up. I am happy to say that this has been the case, although I did absolutely nothing in December as most of my equipment was in for repair. During this time I have been working hard on files and printing so updating everything is coming along. While I sit here on my couch watching the San Diego Chargers upset the Colts in the NFL divisional playoffs (I love football) I think about how disappointing it is when the football season ends. That period between January and May leaves a lot to be desired. There isn’t a lot to look forward to except nicer weather. This is, however, the best time to focus on work. I’m hoping to have my promotional material done soon in addition to starting some personal projects that I have been looking forward to. ![]()
One of the more disappointing events that has happened recently (other than the Chicago Bears’ entire 2007 season) is that on January 1st, 2008 ibid photo closed it’s doors. Ibid was a great stock photography company that I had the pleasure to work with from 2004 until they closed down due to the challenges forced upon them by the giants in the industry. I always felt that ibid was a breath of fresh air in the stock photography market dominated by bland photos and boring ideas. I have been contacted by another company that I may try out but I’m keeping my options open while I speak with a few others.

I started a tradition last year where I make an original photograph and create a Christmas/Holiday card out of it. I enjoy doing this because It’s a way for me to give my friends and family an original piece of art while having fun doing it. Below are my 2006 and 2007 cards.
